Robert Lee Cavitt

Robert Lee Cavitt, 82, of Mattoon, IL, formerly of the Elkville area, passed away at 8:10 A.M., Monday, November 15, 2004 at the Illinois Veterans Home in Quincy, IL.
Robert was a school administrator for the Mattoon School District and retired in 1983.  He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Mattoon.  He was a lifemember of Mattoon Kiwanis Club and member of Retired Teachers.  He was a U.S. Army veteran of W.W. II.
He was born April 13, 1922 at Hallidayboro, IL, the son of Robert Raymond (Bud) and Ruby (Boner) Cavitt.
He married Amy House on June 2, 1947 at the Elkville Methodist Church in Elkville, IL and she survives.
He is survived by his wife of Quincy, three children - Deborah Ann Seibert of Quincy, Robert Bruce Cavitt and wife Kathy of Toledo, IL, and Susan Diane Arthur and husband Terry of Rochester, IL, one brother-in-law - Kenneth House of Du Quoin, IL, six grandchildren and one great grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter - Emily Cavitt, one grandson - Luke Arthur, two sisters - Lillian Aken and Deloris Pinnell Jackson, and one son-in-law - James Seibert.
Graveside services were at 1:00 P.M., Wednesday, November 17, 2004 at the Elkville Cemetery at Elkville, IL with Bro. Jerry Aken officiating.
Interment was in the Elkville Cemetery at Elkville, IL.
Friends may make memorials to the First United Methodist Church of Mattoon.
